Owl's Head Park

Owl's Head Park is a 24.22-acre park in the Bay Ridge neighborhood of southwestern Brooklyn, perched on a bluff overlooking the Narrows and New York Harbor. The park takes its name from a rock formation at its summit that was thought to resemble the head of an owl, providing a distinctive landmark visible from the water.

The park's elevated position provides some of the most dramatic views in Brooklyn, encompassing the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, Staten Island, the Statue of Liberty, and the open waters of the harbor and the Lower Bay beyond. The views rival those from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, though the park is far less visited.

Owl's Head Park features a playground, basketball courts, a dog run, and a network of walking paths that wind through mature woodland and landscaped areas. The park's topography, descending steeply from the bluff to Shore Road along the waterfront, creates varied terrain that supports both hilltop promenading and lower-level active recreation.
