POPS - Indoor Lobby

55 Church Street is a Privately Owned Public Space in the Financial District near the Tribeca border, providing an indoor publicly accessible lobby near the World Trade Center area.

Church Street runs along the eastern edge of the World Trade Center site, connecting the Financial District to Tribeca and City Hall. The street was at the center of the devastation on September 11, 2001, and has been rebuilt as part of the area's comprehensive reconstruction.

The Oculus, Santiago Calatrava's dramatic white-ribbed transit hub at the World Trade Center, is nearby. The structure serves as a PATH train station connecting Manhattan to New Jersey and has become one of the most photographed new buildings in the city.

The POPS at 55 Church Street serves the rebuilt World Trade Center district, where memorial, commerce, transit, and residential life coexist in one of the most emotionally resonant locations in the world.

This lobby space provides public access in a neighborhood that has been reborn from the most traumatic event in New York City's history.
