2 Pennsylvania Plaza is a Privately Owned Public Space in the office complex surrounding Madison Square Garden and Penn Station, one of the busiest transit and entertainment hubs in North America.

Madison Square Garden, 'The World's Most Famous Arena,' hosts professional basketball (Knicks), hockey (Rangers), concerts, and special events. The arena sits atop Penn Station, and the surrounding office towers including 2 Penn Plaza form a massive commercial complex.

Penn Station handles over 600,000 passengers daily, making the surrounding blocks among the most congested in the city. Indoor POPS in the Penn Station complex provide essential relief from the station's notoriously cramped and confusing underground spaces.

The original Penn Station, a Beaux-Arts masterpiece demolished in 1963, is widely mourned as one of the greatest architectural losses in American history. Plans for a new station entrance and expansion have been debated for decades.

This POPS serves the enormous daily population of commuters, arena visitors, office workers, and travelers who pass through one of the most intensively used transit and entertainment complexes in the world.
