300 East 93rd Street

300 East 93rd Street is a Privately Owned Public Space in the northern Yorkville area of the Upper East Side, providing outdoor seating at a residential building between First and Second Avenues.

The upper 90s on the eastern Upper East Side mark the northern edge of the neighborhood's traditional residential character. The 96th Street subway station on the Second Avenue line, opened in 2017, has improved connectivity for this previously transit-poor area.

Marx Brothers Playground, a NYC Parks facility on East 96th Street near Second Avenue, is named for the famous comedy team who grew up on East 93rd Street in this neighborhood. Harpo, Groucho, Chico, Gummo, and Zeppo Marx were all born and raised in Yorkville.

The POPS serves the residential community of northern Yorkville, a section of the neighborhood that retains more of its working-class character than the more gentrified blocks farther south.
