Brookville Park

Brookville Park is a 95-acre park in the Rosedale and Laurelton neighborhoods of southeastern Queens. The park encompasses a mix of athletic facilities, meadows, and natural areas that serve the residential communities along the Queens-Nassau County border.

The park's landscape includes open meadows, woodland areas, and a network of streams and wetlands connected to the broader Jamaica Bay watershed. The natural areas support populations of birds, small mammals, and native plant communities, providing ecological services in an otherwise heavily developed landscape.

Brookville Park features baseball and softball diamonds, soccer fields, basketball courts, a running track, and playgrounds. The athletic facilities serve organized youth and adult leagues from the surrounding neighborhoods, which are among the most suburban in character of any communities in Queens.

Rosedale and Laurelton are predominantly African American residential communities of single-family homes and tree-lined streets. The neighborhoods maintain a strong sense of community identity and have advocated consistently for parks improvements and investment in public infrastructure.
