Ferry Point Park

Ferry Point Park is a 414-acre waterfront park in the Throgs Neck section of the southeastern Bronx, one of the largest parks in the borough. The park stretches along the shoreline where the East River meets Long Island Sound, offering expansive views of the Whitestone and Throgs Neck Bridges.

The park takes its name from the ferry service that once operated from this point, carrying passengers across the water before the bridges were built. The ferry connected the Bronx to College Point in Queens and later to points on Long Island, serving as a vital transportation link in the pre-bridge era.

Ferry Point Park is home to the Trump Links at Ferry Point, an 18-hole public golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus that opened in 2015. The course occupies a former landfill that was capped and remediated for park use, transforming a waste site into one of the most scenic golf facilities in the city.

Beyond the golf course, the park includes athletic fields, walking and cycling paths, a waterfront esplanade, and natural areas along the shoreline. The park's wetland habitats support bird populations and native plant communities, providing ecological value alongside recreation.
