Shore Road Park is a 58-acre linear waterfront park stretching along the western shore of Bay Ridge from Owl's Head Park south to the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. The park provides continuous waterfront access with views of the Narrows, Staten Island, and the bridge.
The park's promenade and bike path run along the shore, offering one of the most scenic walking and cycling routes in Brooklyn. The views of the Verrazano Bridge, particularly at sunset, are among the most dramatic in the borough.
Bay Ridge is a residential neighborhood with Norwegian, Italian, and Middle Eastern heritage. Shore Road, which runs along the park, is lined with some of Bay Ridge's most desirable homes, many offering views across the Narrows.
The Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, visible from the park's southern end, connects Brooklyn to Staten Island and was the world's longest suspension bridge when it opened in 1964. The bridge is the starting point of the New York City Marathon each November.
Shore Road Park serves the Bay Ridge community with a waterfront promenade, athletic fields, playgrounds, and one of the most spectacular sunset views in all of Brooklyn.
