Pier 25

Pier 25 is the longest pier in Hudson River Park and the largest public recreation pier in Tribeca, stretching into the Hudson River at North Moore Street. At approximately five acres, it is one of the most generously sized waterfront recreation spaces in Lower Manhattan.

The pier was rebuilt and opened in 2010 as a multi-use recreational facility incorporating a children's playground, miniature golf course, beach volleyball courts, a skate park, a large open lawn, and seasonal food vendors. The variety of activities packed onto the pier reflects its role as the primary outdoor recreation space for the Tribeca neighborhood.

Pier 25 includes a public mooring field where recreational boats can dock, connecting the park to the broader maritime life of the Hudson River. A public boathouse offers kayak and sailing programs, and the pier's tip provides unobstructed views up and down the river and across to the New Jersey waterfront.

Tribeca's transformation from an industrial warehouse district to one of Manhattan's most affluent residential neighborhoods created intense demand for family-oriented outdoor space. Pier 25 answered that demand with a facility that functions as Tribeca's backyard, hosting everything from toddler play dates to adult volleyball leagues.

The pier's design emphasizes flexibility and year-round use, with covered areas for rainy days and an open layout that accommodates large community events. Pier 25 demonstrates the potential of waterfront pier reconstruction to create genuinely transformative public spaces from the decaying maritime infrastructure of Manhattan's west side.
