Pier 97 is a public pier park in Hudson River Park at West 57th Street, near the northern boundary of the park system. Opened in 2023, it is one of the newest additions to Hudson River Park and represents the near-completion of the continuous waterfront esplanade from the Battery to Midtown.

The pier features a large lawn, a playground, a dog run, pathways, and seating areas with views of the Hudson River, the George Washington Bridge to the north, and the New Jersey Palisades. The pier's design emphasizes open sight lines and a direct connection to the river.

Pier 97's location at the edge of Hell's Kitchen and the Clinton neighborhood connects it to a residential community that has historically had limited waterfront access. The opening of the pier was celebrated by neighborhood residents who had watched the city's waterfront transformation gradually extend northward over two decades.

The pier sits near the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum (housed on the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid at Pier 86), placing it within a waterfront zone that combines public recreation with maritime heritage attractions. The proximity of these facilities creates a destination cluster on the west side waterfront.

Pier 97 is one of the final pieces in the Hudson River Park puzzle, helping to complete the vision of a continuous five-mile waterfront park that has transformed Manhattan's west side from an industrial wasteland into one of the most desirable waterfronts in the world.
