Sunflower Park

Sunflower Park is a small neighborhood park near East 103rd Street and the FDR Drive in East Harlem. The park's cheerful name reflects its community-oriented character and the neighborhood's tradition of creating beauty and hope in public spaces despite limited resources.

East Harlem, also known as El Barrio and Spanish Harlem, has one of the lowest ratios of park acreage to population in Manhattan. Small parks like Sunflower Park are critically important in a neighborhood where many residents live in public housing developments with limited private outdoor space.
