Schmul Park is a 7.39-acre park at Arthur Kill Road and Sharrotts Road in the Pleasant Plains section of southern Staten Island. Named for a local family, the park provides recreation space in one of the most rural-feeling corners of New York City.

Pleasant Plains, at the southern end of Staten Island, retains a quiet, small-town character with modest homes, community institutions, and a slower pace of life that distinguishes it from the more developed areas of the island's North Shore.

The park features a playground, basketball courts, a skate park, and open green areas. The skate park is one of the few dedicated skateboarding facilities on the island, drawing young skaters from across the South Shore.

Southern Staten Island's proximity to Raritan Bay and the Arthur Kill provides a maritime atmosphere that shapes the character of neighborhoods like Pleasant Plains. The park serves a community whose identity is connected to the water, even when the park itself is inland.

Schmul Park provides the comprehensive neighborhood recreation that a community like Pleasant Plains needs: a place for children to play, teenagers to skate, and families to gather in the southernmost corner of the city.
