Spuyten Duyvil Shorefront Park

Spuyten Duyvil Shorefront Park is a three-acre waterfront park along the Hudson River and Spuyten Duyvil Creek in the Spuyten Duyvil neighborhood of the northwestern Bronx. The park provides direct waterfront access at the dramatic junction where the creek connects the Hudson and Harlem Rivers.

The name Spuyten Duyvil derives from a Dutch phrase variously translated as 'spite the devil' or 'spinning devil,' references to the treacherous currents at the creek's mouth that challenged colonial-era sailors. The waters here remain among the most turbulent in New York Harbor.

The park features a waterfront promenade, seating areas, and views across the Hudson to the Palisades and across Spuyten Duyvil Creek to the northern tip of Manhattan's Inwood Hill Park. The dramatic views of cliffs, bridges, and converging waterways make this one of the most geographically compelling parks in the Bronx.
