Boerum Park

Boerum Park is a small neighborhood park in the Boerum Hill section of Brooklyn, situated along Atlantic Avenue between Hoyt and Smith Streets. The park is named for the Boerum family, early Dutch settlers who farmed the area in the 17th and 18th centuries. The neighborhood of Boerum Hill also takes its name from this family.

The park provides a green buffer along busy Atlantic Avenue, one of Brooklyn's major east-west commercial corridors. The avenue's heavy traffic and commercial activity make the park's trees, benches, and play area especially welcome in an otherwise urban streetscape.

Boerum Park features a playground, basketball courts, and limited green space.
