Manhattan Beach Playground

Manhattan Beach Playground is a neighborhood park in the Manhattan Beach section of southeastern Brooklyn, providing recreational space in one of Brooklyn's most exclusive seaside residential neighborhoods.

Manhattan Beach was developed as an exclusive resort in the 1870s by Austin Corbin, who built the Manhattan Beach Hotel, one of the grandest seaside hotels in America. The neighborhood retains its affluent character with detached homes on tree-lined streets near the ocean.

The neighborhood is home to a large community of Russian and Central Asian Jewish immigrants who settled in the area beginning in the 1970s. Their presence has added kosher restaurants, synagogues, and cultural institutions to the neighborhood.

Manhattan Beach's location on a peninsula between Sheepshead Bay and the Atlantic Ocean gives it a waterfront character on multiple sides, with beaches, marinas, and waterfront parks accessible within walking distance.

Manhattan Beach Playground serves one of Brooklyn's most distinctive residential communities, where seaside resort heritage, Russian-Jewish immigration, and oceanfront living create a unique neighborhood identity.
