Owl's Head Park Skatepark is one of the most popular skateboarding and BMX facilities in Brooklyn, located within the larger Owl's Head Park in Bay Ridge, a hilltop park with spectacular views of the Verrazano Bridge and New York Harbor.
Owl's Head Park is named for a rock formation at the park's summit that was thought to resemble an owl's head. The park's elevated terrain provides some of the best harbor views in southern Brooklyn, with the Verrazano Bridge dominating the southern horizon.
The skatepark attracts riders from across Brooklyn and beyond, providing a dedicated facility for a community that has historically struggled to find legal and safe places to skate in the city.
Bay Ridge, the surrounding neighborhood, is a diverse residential community with strong Italian, Irish, Greek, and Middle Eastern populations. The neighborhood's hilltop parks and waterfront access make it one of the most naturally beautiful areas of Brooklyn.
Owl's Head Park Skatepark serves Brooklyn's skating community in a park whose hilltop location and harbor views create one of the most scenic settings for any skatepark in the country.
