Pier 2 at Brooklyn Bridge Park

Pier 2 at Brooklyn Bridge Park is the park's primary active recreation pier, featuring roller skating, basketball courts, bocce courts, handball courts, shuffleboard, a fitness area, and a picnic zone on a converted shipping pier over the East River.

The pier's transformation from a derelict commercial shipping facility into a world-class recreation venue is one of the most successful examples of waterfront infrastructure adaptation in the United States.

Pier 2's roller skating rink has become one of the most popular outdoor skating venues in the city, drawing skaters of all levels to glide above the East River with the Manhattan skyline as a backdrop.

Brooklyn Bridge Park's piers (Piers 1 through 6) each have a distinct character, from the hillside lawns of Pier 1 to the playgrounds of Pier 6. Pier 2's athletic facilities make it the most actively used pier in the park.
