Saratoga Square Park

Saratoga Square Park is a 3.21-acre park in Bedford-Stuyvesant, occupying a full block bounded by Saratoga and Howard Avenues and Halsey and Macon Streets. The second largest park in Bedford-Stuyvesant, it provides a valued green space surrounded by the brownstone row houses that make this one of Brooklyn's most architecturally distinguished neighborhoods.

Bedford-Stuyvesant's brownstone houses, built primarily in the 1870s through 1890s, constitute one of the largest collections of Victorian residential architecture in the United States. The neighborhood's architectural heritage has attracted preservation efforts and new residents while maintaining the African American community that has called Bed-Stuy home for generations.

The park features a playground and seating areas amid mature shade trees. Its modest size is typical of the neighborhood parks that serve Bed-Stuy's residential blocks, providing outdoor space within easy walking distance for families who may not live near the larger parks.
