Valentino Pier is the waterfront pier and viewpoint at Louis Valentino Jr. Park in Red Hook, offering what many consider the finest unobstructed view of the Statue of Liberty from any point in Brooklyn.
The pier extends into the Upper New York Bay, providing 270-degree views of the harbor including the Statue of Liberty, Governors Island, the Verrazano Bridge, and the Lower Manhattan skyline.
Red Hook is one of Brooklyn's most isolated neighborhoods, cut off from the subway and separated from the rest of the borough by the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. This isolation has preserved a waterfront industrial character that has attracted artists and entrepreneurs.
The Red Hook Ball Fields, nearby, host an internationally famous outdoor food market each summer where Latin American vendors serve authentic cuisine from Venezuela, Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, and other countries.
Valentino Pier provides the finest Statue of Liberty view in Brooklyn from a neighborhood whose isolation, waterfront grit, and creative energy make it one of the borough's most compelling destinations.
