Tudor Park

Tudor Park is a 13.5-acre community park in the Tudor Village section of Ozone Park, on the border of Howard Beach in southern Queens, just west of Aqueduct Racetrack and John F. Kennedy International Airport. The park takes its name from Tudor Village, a development of Tudor-style homes built in 1929, and provides substantial athletic space for the surrounding neighborhoods.

Tudor Village marked the area's transformation from rural land to a residential community of mock-Tudor houses. Parks Commissioner Henry Stern applied the Tudor Park name to the parkland in 1987; the earliest parcel had been transferred from the city's water supply department when it was no longer needed for the nearby Conduit.

The park features baseball and softball fields, handball and racquetball courts, a playground, a picnic area, and a fountain. Its fields support neighborhood football and softball games and organized youth athletics across the Ozone Park and Howard Beach communities.

Tudor Village and the surrounding Community Board 10 neighborhoods (Ozone Park, Howard Beach, and Lindenwood) are largely low-rise communities of single-family and small multi-family homes. The park is one of the larger pieces of public green space serving this part of southern Queens.

Tudor Park anchors recreation in a corner of Queens defined by its residential character and its proximity to Jamaica Bay, the Aqueduct, and the airport, giving local families the ballfields and open space that support community life.
