Seguine Point is a waterfront park in the Prince's Bay neighborhood of southern Staten Island, occupying a peninsula that extends into the Raritan Bay near the mouth of Lemon Creek.
The park is adjacent to the historic Seguine Mansion, an 1838 Greek Revival house that is one of the finest surviving pre-Civil War estates on Staten Island. The mansion and its grounds reflect the agricultural wealth of southern Staten Island in the 19th century.
The Seguine family were prominent landowners in southern Staten Island, and their estate encompassed much of the waterfront in what is now Prince's Bay. The preservation of the point as parkland protects both the natural shoreline and the historic landscape.
The park's waterfront location on Raritan Bay provides views across the bay to New Jersey and the beaches of the Sandy Hook peninsula. The shoreline habitat supports shorebirds and marine wildlife.
Seguine Point connects visitors to the pre-urban history of Staten Island, when the island's shoreline was dotted with the estates of wealthy landowners who farmed the fertile land along the bay.
