1095 Sixth Avenue

1095 Sixth Avenue is a Privately Owned Public Space along the Avenue of the Americas in Midtown Manhattan. The outdoor plaza provides seating and open space in the heart of the Midtown office tower corridor between Bryant Park and Rockefeller Center.

Sixth Avenue between 42nd and 57th Streets is one of the densest concentrations of corporate office space in the world. The avenue's POPS, created through decades of incentive zoning, collectively provide significant outdoor public space along this busy commercial corridor.

The plaza is situated near Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center, and Radio City Music Hall, placing it within the cultural and commercial core of Midtown. Workers from the surrounding office towers use the space for lunch breaks and informal meetings.

Sixth Avenue's transformation from an elevated railway corridor to a modern office boulevard occurred primarily in the 1960s and 1970s, with many of the POPS along the avenue dating to this period of intensive development.

This space is part of the Sixth Avenue POPS corridor, one of the longest continuous stretches of incentive-zoned public spaces in Manhattan, running from the 40s through the 50s.
