432 Park Avenue is a Privately Owned Public Space at the base of the tallest residential building in the Western Hemisphere (at the time of its completion in 2015). The 1,396-foot supertall tower, designed by Rafael Vinoly, is one of the most visible buildings on the Manhattan skyline.
The building's stark, grid-like facade of square windows on a slender concrete frame has made it one of the most debated pieces of architecture in New York. Critics have called it everything from elegant minimalism to an oversized trash can; supporters admire its structural audacity.
432 Park Avenue is the most prominent tower on Billionaires' Row, the stretch of 57th Street and Park Avenue where ultra-luxury residential towers have risen to extraordinary heights. Apartments in the building have sold for over $100 million.
