POPS - Outdoor Plaza

76 Eleventh Avenue is a Privately Owned Public Space in the Chelsea / Hudson Yards area near the Frank Gehry-designed IAC Building, providing an outdoor plaza on the far west side of Manhattan.

The IAC Building at 555 West 18th Street, designed by Frank Gehry and completed in 2007, was one of the first architecturally significant buildings on the far west side. Its billowing glass facade resembles sails or icebergs and signaled the creative transformation of the former industrial waterfront.

Eleventh Avenue on the far west side has been transformed from an industrial corridor of auto dealerships, warehouses, and bus depots into a neighborhood of residential towers, creative offices, and the High Line elevated park.

The POPS serves the new residential and creative community of the far west side, where the High Line, Hudson River Park, and architecturally ambitious buildings have created a new neighborhood from former industrial land.

This plaza provides outdoor space near one of the most architecturally celebrated buildings of the 21st century, in a neighborhood that has reinvented itself within a single decade.
