POPS - Outdoor Plaza

825 Eighth Avenue is a Privately Owned Public Space on Eighth Avenue at 50th Street in Midtown West, providing an outdoor plaza near the Worldwide Plaza development.

Worldwide Plaza, the large mixed-use development on the block between 49th and 50th Streets on Eighth Avenue, was one of the first major developments to push Midtown's commercial district westward from the traditional Sixth Avenue corridor.

Eighth Avenue in the 50s is at the boundary between Midtown's commercial core and the Hell's Kitchen residential neighborhood to the west. The POPS serves both the office workers in the surrounding towers and the Hell's Kitchen community.

The Worldwide Plaza development included residential, office, and retail components, creating a self-contained urban community that has become a model for mixed-use development in Midtown.

This plaza provides public outdoor space at the western edge of Midtown's commercial expansion.
