Bulova Park

Bulova Park, since renamed Louis C. Moser Park, is an 8.5-acre park in the Jackson Heights section of Queens, near 25th Avenue and 77th Street. The park is named for the Bulova Watch Company, whose nearby Jackson Heights headquarters and earlier Woodside factory were landmarks in the area for much of the 20th century.

The Bulova Watch Company, founded by Joseph Bulova in 1875, was one of the most successful American watchmakers and a pioneer in precision timekeeping. The company's Queens factory produced millions of watches and became a significant local employer. Bulova was also a broadcasting pioneer, airing the first television commercial in 1941.

The park features athletic fields, basketball courts, a playground, and open green areas. Its location in Jackson Heights, a dense and diverse residential neighborhood, means it serves primarily as a neighborhood recreation space for local families.

Jackson Heights is one of Queens' most diverse neighborhoods, home to large South Asian, Latin American, and Himalayan communities, with a vibrant commercial life along Roosevelt Avenue and 37th Avenue.

Bulova Park connects the neighborhood to its industrial heritage, honoring a company that helped define American timekeeping while providing the everyday recreation space that makes residential life in Jackson Heights comfortable and complete.
